The strength of Lumela Stables lies in depth, not diversity. We have built our breeding programme around one mare family: the Lumela and Tripolie V line. Generation after generation, we have followed these horses in sport and breeding. We know their bloodlines, their development and the qualities they pass on.

Every breeding programme has a beginning. Ours began with Lumela.
In the mid-1990s, brothers Jans and Bert Veldman turned their lifelong passion for horses into a breeding programme with one clear ambition: to breed a better sport horse.
Lumela became its foundation mare — and later gave her name to Lumela Stables. Her daughter Tripolie V became a defining mare for the generations that followed.
Mares were retained. Combinations refined. Young horses followed into sport. Each generation adding knowledge to the next.
What started with one mare grew into generations of experience, selection and continuity.
Everything that followed was built from there.
